dutch stein, new collector/seller

a friend of mine's husband has just passedd and she gave me this stein with dutch words on it and pictures of people across the sides. the stein itself is ceramic with purple and blue coloring and words accompanying the pictures.
I don't know any dutch and was able to translate only a few words. they are as follows;

top;                  pejfert - dvmvs - dapper - blassen
bottom; dan danssen - dej bovren - als weren - sje rasen

another odd thing about the piece is that the makers mark is on the top of the stein along the lip and the number of pieces made is on the bottom. the mark is numerical but obvious as the makers mark; 1 1/2 T is what it looks like, I can post pictures later but I'm honestly being rushed to find out where and wheen it is from first.

the bottom is stamped; 83/31

it was bought forty years ago, but who knows how old it really is. anyway, I appreciate any help that can be given.

[peace]

Hi, dear.

Without pictures I cannot really help. I can't translate the Dutch(?) as you report it, I think you are not correctly reading the script (these alphabets are often hard for Americans and English to transliterate), and you may have left out diacritical marks like umlauts. it's entirely possible that this stein was made in Germany, rather than in the Netherlands.

The mark around the the lip probably refers either to the quantity of beer the stein is supposed to hold. The other numbers are usually inventory numbers for the pottery maker and do not generally indicate his identity.

If it has a metal lid, there may well be other marks on it. Again, pictures of these things are vital to helping you.

I hope you can post here soon enough to help you.
