I am an archaeologist in Southern California and have found an interesting mark that we cannot identify and wanted to ask for the forums assistance.
We have recently excavated an 1890s archaeological site in downtown Ventura, California and have found several handpainted dishes and one teacup with an unknown mark. The ceramics are porcelain with a snake-like foot ring. The picture is of a fragment and then the second picture is a drawing of the mark.
