Salt Glazed Stoneware

I may have found the wrong forum, since my interest is in Primitive Salt Glazed Stoneware including crocks, jugs, dental molding & chimney tops.  The first Stoneware maker came into Louisville, KY in about 1815 and evolved into current stoneware company "Louisville Stoneware Company, Inc."  Early Potters are attributed with developing the formulas and making early Queensware\Domestic Ware in Louisville, Kentucky.  If there is any interest in discussion, please respond.confused

Hi, Denise! Welcome!

I used to live near Louisville, I saw a few pieces of stoneware from that area. Very nice.

It's not likely that you'll get much discussion here, but you might find quite a bit of interest at eBay's Pottery, Glass & Porcelain Discussion Board. I'm sure they'd be glad to hear from you and see your pieces.

Westerwald a region in Germany exported a great deal of Salt glaze pottery, in fact it still does today. There is a Museum dedicated to the subject, if you have any questions they would be happy to answer... www.westerwaldmuseum.de
